In the fall of 2017, the Honorable Romano L. Mazzoli established the Helen Dillon Mazzoli & Rosanne Dillon Endowment Fund in loving memory of his beloved wife Helen Dillon Mazzoli who passed away in 2012 and in honor of her sister, Rosanne Dillon. Proceeds from the fund will be directed towards providing tuition assistance to families who could never afford the full cost of a Catholic Education.
Congressman Mazzoli has created the fund to honor two sisters who deeply loved one another and equally loved the children they taught. “The devotion, dedication, and professionalism these two women showed, undoubtedly left a lasting impression to the thousands of children they educated over the years,” commented Mazzoli.
Congressman Mazzoli hopes that this gift in memory of his late wife and in honor of her sister will encourage others to reflect about those who made an impact in their own life. Congressman Mazzoli added, “Catholic education is so important in the formation of our young children. I hope I can inspire others to think about setting up an endowment or planned estate gift honoring someone special in your life.”
The funds provided by the Helen Dillon Mazzoli & Rosanne Dillon Endowment Fund will allow the Catholic Education Foundation of Louisville to continue its aim to provide needy families with tuition assistance in perpetuity.
“Following the establishment of the Helen Asman Dahlem Scholarship Fund and H. Joseph Schutte Scholarship Fund, this marks the third major addition to the permanent endowment in the past two years,” commented Director of Development Kevin Woodward. He added “We are so thankful for Congressman Mazzoli’s gift that will both honor two important Catholic educators in his life, but will also change the trajectory of young lives forever.”
