Our Challenge

If Catholic education is so life-changing – if it propels young people in every facet of their lives like no other – why aren’t there more students in Catholic schools? Better still, why aren’t there more children who live in poverty, whose families have little hope, who struggle from day to day, in Catholic schools? The answer is simple. We, as a community, lack the financial resources necessary to make this happen on a broader scale.

Our Growing Momentum

Over the past several years, the Catholic Education Foundation has grown dramatically to change the futures of more families in need. For example, in 2014, the Foundation provided tuition assistance to 1,480 students in need in our 39 Catholic elementary schools. In the fall of 2022, that number stood at an all-time high 3,600 students with aggregate annual funding of $7.7 million! In fact, since 2014, every family who reached out to the Foundation and qualified for financial assistance in fact earned an award – every single one! As our slogan goes, “The Answer is Yes!” On the positive side of the ledger, we are doing more than we have ever done in our history to provide a Catholic education experience to those in need. On the other side, we CAN and MUST do so much more.
