2025 Fr. Joseph McGee Nomination Form

 The Father Joseph McGee Award was established in 1988 to commemorate Father McGee’s lifetime commitment to Catholic education. It is presented to a teacher who exemplifies this deep dedication to Catholic schools. 

Criteria 

Nominees must: 

• Be currently employed, with a minimum of 15 years of service, as a teacher in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Louisville. 

• Be Catholic and an outstanding role model. 

• Hold current Kentucky teacher certification. 

• Have a positive influence in the lives of students. 

• Encourage faith development of students, along with their physical, mental and emotional advancement. 

• Encourage students to improve their abilities and talents. 

• Have demonstrated record of ongoing professional development. 

• Be actively involved in the parish, school and Louisville community. 

Principals in the Archdiocese of Louisville are asked to nominate one teacher who best exemplifies Father McGee’s commitment to Catholic education. Principals and Assistant Principals are not eligible for this award. 

The Catholic Education Foundation, through the Superintendent of Schools, will appoint a selection committee to review the nominations and select a recipient. All information concerning nominees will be kept confidential, including the name of the person submitting the nomination. The selection committee will select one recipient from all nominees submitted. 

The recipient will receive a monetary gift from the Catholic Education Foundation and a commemorative plaque. 

The award will be presented at the annual Salute to Catholic School Alumni Dinner in March, 2025.
